Meet Colin Ram

I get tremendous professional satisfaction from helping good people fight—and win—against bad actors, large institutions, and insurance companies that refuse to do the right thing.

Colin Ram

South Carolina Trial Attorney and Counselor At Law

After a decade of litigating high-profile corporate cases in Washington, DC at one of the top law firms in the country, I moved to South Carolina to leverage my complex litigation experience on behalf of people who need it the most. I get tremendous professional satisfaction from helping good people fight—and win—against bad actors, large institutions, and insurance companies that refuse to do the right thing. Since moving to Mount Pleasant in 2018, I have handled some of the most challenging and complex injury, wrongful death, and civil rights cases in South Carolina, recovering millions of dollars for my clients that would have otherwise gone unpaid.

I’m a trial-tested litigator representing individuals and families in a wide range of personal injury, negligence, civil rights, and fraud cases. I’ve successfully represented clients in complex cases and I have litigated legal issues in the federal courts of appeal and the U.S. Supreme Court.  Because my practice often involves tackling difficult legal problems that others might avoid, I bring a high level of determination and creativity to each case to help seek out a just result for my clients.

Before starting my own firm, I spent nearly a decade handling complex civil and white collar criminal matters at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in Washington, D.C.  While there, I litigated dozens of high-profile cases for individuals and multinational corporations, including numerous fraud cases brought under the False Claims Act and other federal statutes. My family and I eventually relocated to Mount Pleasant, where I began representing plaintiffs in complex civil cases at a respected trial firm.

I also served in the U.S. Navy as an Intelligence Specialist (E-5), where I provided terrorism and threat assessments for naval forces transiting hostile regions.  Before beginning my legal career, I worked as a floor trader at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, where I traded financial derivative instruments in the trading pits and on exchanges worldwide.

I believe in staying connected to my community and helping others.  I’m a board member of the Oda Foundation, a nonprofit focused on health and education initiatives for children in impoverished areas, and I’ve served as the President of the Law Council at Washington & Lee University.  I am a member of the Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce and Lowcountry Local First.

I’m also a private, instrument-rated pilot based in Mount Pleasant. When I’m not in the courtroom, I enjoy flying around South Carolina to visit with clients, friends, and family.
